Gavin Jackson in London
I have featured Gavin Jackson’s brilliant work on my tumblr. I came across the post below at Remodelista and thought I would bring it here to share because it is so nicely presented. Gavin Jackson is a London-based architect who specializes in creating impeccably detailed, uber-minimalist interiors behind historic facades. Very cool…the best of both worlds.

Flowerbox Building/Pulltab Design
New York–based Pulltab Design’s scheme for a loftlike apartment in the Flowerbox Building in the East Village integrates a vertical garden, a reflecting pool, high-polished concrete floors; materials like American black walnut, bronze, and steel; and surfaces finished in true pigment paints and high-gloss lacquer. Classic modernist pieces by Matthew Hilton, Hans Wegner, and Serge Mouille complement the coolly elegant interiors. When may I move in?
Vienna Way/Marmol Radziner
Vienna Way is a warm and comfortable family home located in Venice, California. Marmol Radziner‘s use of floor to ceiling glazing and connected outdoor living spaces seamlessly integrate the home with the native California landscape.

I’m Melting
Godiva introduced not long ago the latest addition to its expansion with the shop ‘Chocoiste’ in the popular and fashionable Harajuku district in Tokyo//Japan. In order to break the generally rather conservatively designed Godiva shops, Wonderwall, the famous Japanese based interior design firm, decided to introduce a new fresh and playful design. The delicious new concept shop is simulating melting chocolate that is dripping from the ceilings and running down the walls, creating a cartoon-like sense to the interior. With that idea in mind, the shop features humorous and fun designs with literally melting chocolate where the shop’s visitors would wish for it to be real chocolate and eat it off the walls and ceilings. Ummmm…mission accomplished.
Perfection
Welcome to Villa L in Paris by Olivier Lempereur. Olivier Lempereur listens to his clients first and foremost in order to offer them a unique and tailored interior space, to ensure that each detail reflects their personality and fully meets the needs of their lifestyle. His focus is on function and comfort, without ever compromising his obsession with detail and finish. The collaboration of his wife, Hélène, a stylist, brings an element of feminine intuition to his work, ensuring each project achieves architectural, aesthetic and emotive completion. Oh so good…
Openhouse
Nestled into a natural Hollywood Hills site, Openhouse by Xten Architecture enjoys spectacular city views below. Doors slide open to erase all boundaries between indoors and out and connect the spaces to gardens and terraces on three levels. The interior spaces extend to embrace nature and nature extends into and throughout the house. A truly amazing property…

Say Cheese
Kotaro Horiuchi has completed Salon du Fromage, a small cheese boutique and restaurant located in Paris’ first androssiment. This heavenly shop does not look like the average delicatessen.
Originally built in the 18th century, the narrow two-storey structure is wrapped in a soft curvaceous wall that separates the space into intimate rooms.
Cylindrical refrigerators house some 350 varieties of cheese. Yum! Lamps, resembling cubes of cheese, hang from the ceiling, giving off a milky white glow.
The space contains a show kitchen where wine tastings and classes take place.
Fabulous.
The Cool
Spanish architect Iñaqui Carnicero designed the Pitch’s House in Madrid, Spain. Do you feel the cool oozing from this sleek and modern gem? I have the shivers…
A Fresh Start
It is the beginning of a new week. Open the windows and let the spring air in. It is the day when everything begins anew…a fresh start. Oh the possibilities! Wishing you a happy week.
This is Mine…Ok, I’ll Share
A few years ago, sculptor Stephen Weiss, late husband of Donna Karan, had Spa House built on the adjoining property to the couple’s existing compound in East Hampton overlooking the Bay Shore of Long Island. Bonetti/Kozerski Studio was hired by the couple to design and furnish the interior and landscape in the same aesthetic and lifestyle as the other residences and stores they have designed for Donna Karan. Spa House, used mainly for meditation and yoga, features large sliding windows that open to the decks, gardens and the sea. The landscape was designed with relaxation and meditation in mind and indulges the calming and soothing views of the bay; selected pieces of furniture are placed around the property as if standing inside a large outdoor living room. Can you understand why I want to claim this peaceful retreat for myself?

It’s Friday and we are on our way to the City of Lights to the Centre Pompidou. On Level 6, Restaurant Georges has some of the finest panoramic views of Paris…and, inside Restaurant Georges, we will find The Pink Bar. Designed by Jakob+MacFarlane, The Pink Bar is built from aluminum sheets with an interior color of…well, take a look….gorgeous.
