The Alchemist…
…there are not enough adjectives to describe the work of the Belgian seer of beauty, Axel Vervoordt. “My style is more than it looks,” Vervoordt says. Indeed, his statement is true. His vision is to inspire artists and audiences through discovering and transmitting the beautiful, with a deep respect for everything that is authentic.
Trilogy…
…I discovered three new projects that struck me as wanting to play together…
Reiulf Ramstad Architects: At Work…
…today we are at work with RRA Studio in a renovated 19th century villa in Josefines gate 7, near Bislett in Oslo. The office has been renovated to modern standards while retaining and displaying the character of building. A glass floor between the entry level and the workspaces provides a spatial connection between each floor and exposes the beautiful timber construction.
2015 Design Trends…
…I am pleased to say that my fave color, indigo blue or moody blue, is trending in 2015…here, here, and here. Smoky glass, geometric tiles, and abstract painterly rugs, will also be featured in fresh designs. Metals will be mixed. Remember, however, that you are the trendsetting authority when it comes to your personal space. Let’s take a look…are any of these your favorite elements?
Reiulf Ramstad Architects: Work Commute…
…we are beginning a new year with new adventures and creative ideas, so back to work we go. A commute to work is pleasant and inspiring when Reiulf Ramstad Architects (RRA) leads the way…
Reiulf Ramstad Architects: On Tour…
…as promised, a sampler of the stellar work of Reiulf Ramstad Architects (RRA). Today we are touring…I’m ready to pack my bags and bask in the beauty.
Fireplace Fantasy…
…baby, it’s cold outside. Featured are a few of my favorite fireplaces wrapped in gray, chocolate, and black. I love to daydream, do you?
Reiulf Ramstad Architects: At Home…
…Reiulf Ramstad Architects (RRA) is an independent Oslo-based architectural firm with a high level of expert knowledge and a distinct ideology. I have been an admirer for quite a long time. Over the years RRA has produced a wide range of innovative and ground breaking projects with an exceptional variation of scale and program. Over the next several days, I plan to show you glimpses of RRA’s extensive portfolio. I’m sure you will recognize many of your favorites, as well as be delighted by projects you are not as familiar with…let’s begin with a few residential projects…
Artist: Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson…
…Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson is a British artist living and working in Barcelona. Her creative work is expressed in both sculpture and drawing.
All her creative output is a natural subconscious response to the world around her. It reflects both natural and manmade forms and their physical relationship to each other in life. Dynamic, organic, and in motion…
Holiday Stress?…
…this should cure it. Luxury Dusit Thani resort is just one of many tropical heavens on earth. It is located on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll in beautiful Maldives.
Warm, Rich, and Grounded…
…marsala…Pantone’s Color of the Year 2015…has been in my home for…hmmmm…probably longer than you need know. This rich and quiet red works well with neutrals. If there is a nod to The East in your home, or an appreciation for nature, marsala will also be easily incorporated.
