Openhouse

Nestled into a natural Hollywood Hills site, Openhouse by Xten Architecture enjoys spectacular city views below.  Doors slide open to erase all boundaries between indoors and out and connect the spaces to gardens and terraces on three levels.  The interior spaces extend to embrace nature and nature extends into and throughout the house.  A truly amazing property…

Say Cheese

Kotaro Horiuchi has completed Salon du Fromage, a small cheese boutique and restaurant located in Paris’ first androssiment.  This heavenly shop does not look like the average delicatessen.

Originally built in the 18th century, the narrow two-storey structure is wrapped in a soft curvaceous wall that separates the space into intimate rooms.

Cylindrical refrigerators house some 350 varieties of cheese.  Yum!  Lamps, resembling cubes of cheese, hang from the ceiling, giving off a milky white glow.

The space contains a show kitchen where wine tastings and classes take place.

Fabulous.

This is Mine…Ok, I’ll Share

A few years ago, sculptor Stephen Weiss, late husband of Donna Karan, had Spa House built on the adjoining property to the couple’s existing compound in East Hampton overlooking the Bay Shore of Long Island.  Bonetti/Kozerski Studio was hired by the couple to design and furnish the interior and landscape in the same aesthetic and lifestyle as the other residences and stores they have designed for Donna Karan. Spa House, used mainly for meditation and yoga, features large sliding windows that open to the decks, gardens and the sea.  The landscape was designed with relaxation and meditation in mind and indulges the calming and soothing views of the bay; selected pieces of furniture are placed around the property as if standing inside a large outdoor living room.  Can you understand why I want to claim this peaceful retreat for myself?

Clock Tower Penthouse

It is time…time to begin a new page for cabbagerose.   We are going to mark this time with the clock tower penthouse; recently on the market for a cool $25 million. In addition to the clocks and amazing views, the triplex features 16 foot ceilings on the main level and central glass elevator and floating staircase.

I’m already sold but the sweeping view of Brooklyn seals the deal.
