Snow Blind
Fresh snowfall in Chicago…everything is glistening and bright…
Friday Shopping
Today is Friday and with the weekend coming up it is always fun to think about a bit of shopping. We are visiting the Martin Margiela Beijing flagship store location. Here we find a fab collection of apparel, accessories, and home collections. In addition, we can have serious fun on the aluminum slide which brings us from the second floor to the first floor in the most unusual way. Happy weekend.
Crusch Alba/Gus Wustemann
We are off to a fabulous flat in Barcelona in the Gotica area. By placing a Crusch Alba, or white cross in the center of the apartment, Gus Wustemann was able to bring in light.
On Top
Innocad Architecture created a fresh atmosphere for their clients by remodeling a rooftop apartment using a mixture of European design and New York lifestyle. PH New York is located in the meatpacking district.
The Glacier/Gus Wustemann
Gus Wustemann was asked by clients to design a new generous loft in the dark attic of a house in Lucerne, Switzerland. Gus was given carte blanche on this project and the result, I think, is brilliant…literally. Glacier, rock, and ice blocks can be seen in the ‘landscape’ of this gorgeous loft.
The ‘Rise’ of the Designer Bakery
I think there is nothing more satisfying than warm, freshly baked bread with my cup of coffee in the morning. Is there anything more comforting and familiar than a homey loaf of bread? Now enter the ‘rise’ of cool designer bakeries. No longer do we just enjoy the taste of our baked goods, but we now are invited to also visually feast our eyes at many new bakeries. Not surprisingly, the dramatic dawn of the designer bakery took place in Milan.

This Is Mine…OK, I’ll Share
Welcome to this dynamic space located in Tribeca. The Inverted Warehouse Townhouse has received numerous U.S. awards. It is the creation of Dean-Wolf Architects of New York, where architect Charles Wolf and designer Eunjeong Seong were in charge of the project.
Time Out
Pack your bags, we are on our way to Babylonstoren in South Africa’s Caped Winelands. The charming old estate with more than 320 years of history remains a ‘working farm’ while it also provides the luxury and the comforts of a unique country getaway. The Cape Dutch farm buildings with their 17th and 18th century atmosphere provide for five star guest accommodation. We will work a little and play a lot, all the while relaxing at this quintessential resort.
Movie Night
Eva over at otis & frank thinks these are the perfect movie chairs…I would have to agree. Happy Friday.
Ville Hara
Linda Bergoths created a glass house by the lake, Ville Hara. It reminds me of a modern day space where Snow White lies waiting for Prince Charming…true, yes?
NHow/Karim Rashid
Let’s take a look at Berlin’s first music hotel, sitting in the center of the city’s music, fashion, and creative scene. NHow by Karim Rashid is an adventure; it looks as though you entered a sound speaker and find yourself playing and sleeping amongst sound vibrations.
