Time Out

Pack your bags, we are on our way to Babylonstoren in South Africa’s Caped Winelands.  The charming old estate with more than 320 years of history remains a ‘working farm’ while it also provides the luxury and the comforts of a unique country getaway.  The Cape Dutch farm buildings with their 17th and 18th century atmosphere provide for five star guest accommodation. We will work a little and play a lot, all the while relaxing at this quintessential resort.

Time Out

Adrere Amellal is located in Siwa, Egypt, in the middle of the Sahara Desert.  Bedouin nomads are its neighbors and it is 200 miles away from the nearest town.   Constructed out of kershef, a mud and rock salt combination from the large salt lake adjacent, the hotel is a maze of corridors and rooms.   The beds, the armchairs, everything is made of kershef.  There is no electricity at the hotel and nightfall is a magical time with beeswax candles used as the only source of light.  Ready to explore?  Let’s pack our bags.

Domaine Des Andeols

In honor of Bastille Day, we are headed to France…

Perched on a hilltop with views of olive trees, lavender fields, orchards and lakes, in Luberon, Provence, you will find Domaine Des Andeols.  Each of the suites is comprised of nine free-standing, individual houses.  Designer furniture, sculptures, contemporary art, and other objets d’art can be found in each stunning suite.  The idea is to make each guest feel at home…or at least in ‘the home of their dreams.’  Oh, I would say, ‘done.’

The Luna2 Private Hotel

Luna2 is a private beachfront hotel in Bali, Indonesia that has been designed by American architect David Wahl, with interiors by owner and interior designer Melanie Hall.

The hotel is called “private” because they only accept one guest booking at a time for the five bedroom Richard Neutra-inspired beachfront house.  If you notice, the hotel does provide a private butler; now that all t’s have been crossed and i’s have been dotted, time to pack….
