Time Out…
We work for a multitude of reasons…and it’s reasonable we like to play hard after we work hard. Below are a few new establishments that would be fun to unwind and play at after a demanding work day…
The Abbaye de Fontevraud Hotel, Anjou, France/the remarkable architect duo, Jouin Manku
Shustov Brandy Bar, Odessa, Ukraine/Belenko Design Brand
The Peggy Guggenheim Café contemporary renovation, NY, NY/Hangar Design Group

A Twist on Color…
watercolor your walls…
create a bold and colorful runner…
or, add colored fixtures….
Take a Bow…
…baby boomers galore ponder a myriad of ways they would like to gracefully take their last bow on stage left and create a new vision for life on stage right. A couple in their 60’s chose to trade busy city life for a restful life surrounded by nature in New Zealand. They asked Hamish Monk Architecture to create their nirvana. Waiatarua House is complete with exquisite modern furnishings, creative sculptural components, and a unique sensitivity for the bush area surrounding the property.
Chocolate Eclair…
…maybe I’m simply hungry…however. my eyes are feasting on this rich and sweet course of a home…L’Ecran, Wenworth-Nord, Canada…whipped to perfection by Alain Carle Architecte…yum.
Hug a Cloud…
…Margje Teeuwen has collaborated with Erwin Zwiers to create Proplamp, a lamp made from a biodegradable non-woven material that you can ‘crush’ to tailor-make your own design.
Ore Studios Interior Design…
…uses the perfect mix of elements…traditional and modern; to-the-minute and vintage; and, bold and quiet colors. I truly appreciate their aesthetic…love their work.

So Long…
…The Long Houses, Singapore, by Formwerkz Architects…such a beauty…works for me…
Fresh…
…as fresh can be. Linen bedding, linen headboard and linen draperies are ‘crisply wrinkled’…the fabric sets off an olfactory response…fragrant ‘fresh’. Sunshine, wood slats, and pristine concrete flooring; one gets the feeling the master bed is half inside, half outside…strategic placement of art adds just the right punch.

Lovely Buddha…
…always brings a sense of peace and integrity to a space…
Shhhh!!!…
studiofour has recently completed an addition to a single level Victorian house in Prahan, Australia. The Alfred Street Residence boasts such a lovely mix of elements…natural, beautiful, and ‘quiet’…makes it easy to decompress upon entering and leave the outside world behind. Breathe in…breathe out…
