Hey, Monkey-Face!…

…playfulness and a touch of humor in design is delightful.  Anything that can place a smile on one’s face, at a glance, is seriously charming.  Spanish designer, Jaime Hayón has designed Miko, a chimp-like faced watch, for his Orlog watch company.  Grins!

Simple is Beautiful and Less is More…

…Polish designer, Agata Bieleń, has created a tranquil beauty with her stunning Arch Line Collection for Spring Summer 2015.  The intentional gentleness, liquidity, and relief for the senses is both beautiful and bold with reassured confidence. Each form is handcrafted of stainless steel, silver or gold with the utmost attention towards detail; following the idea that simple is beautiful and less is more.  Photography by Marta Zgierska, Michał Matejko, and Mchy Porosty.

Time Out…

…let’s hop over to Fire Island, NY, where an ordinary 1960’s a-frame has been renovated by Bromley Caldari Architects. The A-Frame Rethink has been transformed from underwhelming and decrepit to a “cathedral that is light-filled with the color of sky and water, complex but simple, where the pieces lock into place like a Rubik’s cube.”

Checking In at the Office…

…and it is a pleasure to do so, indeed.   Vladimir Radutny Architects was asked to renovate the office for Ranquist Development Group in Chicago.  And the result?  A winning and raw space, boasting industrial details and a glass-walled garage to showcase the owner’s limited edition Porsche…sweet!
