Artist and Jewelry Designer: Lorraine Pennington

I love the look and feel of artist  and jewelry designer Lorraine Pennington‘s work.  Solid and earthy, pleasing textures and mysterious imagery all add up to…beauty.   Lorraine searches for a balance between color and texture.   She applies many layers of paint and will scratch, sand, and wipe away to reveal what lies beneath the surface of her artwork.  Lorraine is drawn to  “wabi sabi,” the art of the imperfect, and  finds it is often revealed in her jewelry designs and artwork.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lorraine through her fab blog, 2BMODERN.  Lorraine’s work is also featured on her website, Modern Surfaces Art Gallery.

  • Her work is so interesting. Just learned about wabi-sabi and am very curious to notice it more now. The idea of imperfection in both art and jewelry is very appealing! xx
