Fairy Tale…

Jikka, meaning ‘parents’ home’ in Japanese, is the brain-child of lifelong welfare workers, Nobuko Suma and Sachiko Fujioka.  Together, they commissioned Nobuko’s son, the Tokyo-based architect Issei Suma, to build them a multi-purpose home, with architectural quirks to help them live out their days in style. Viewed from afar, Jikka appears to be a cluster of magical, fairy tale dwarf homes.  But in reality, the hilltop teepees are actually a private retirement home.  Jikka…down to earth and back to nature…
