Flu Season…
…the flu season is vicious in the U.S. this year… I hope you are well overseas? If necessary, I would choose to pick up my prescription from the ethereal Placebo Pharmacy by KLab Architecture…
…Greek studio KLab Architecture created this pharmacy in Athens by wrapping a round facade punctured by Braille lettering over the existing octagonal building, with plants occupying the space in between…
…a bit of fun for the children…
…is it possible? Do I spy shoes in the pharmacy?
…let’s go in and get what we need…
Sighted in the City…
…Optical Glass House by Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP is in the midst of the busy city of Hiroshima, Japan…privacy and tranquility are provided by the glistening facade of suspended glass blocks…an oasis in the heart of urban hustle and bustle. If you have time, please view the video…exterior and interior…perfection.
Enter…
…staircase by Belgian architect Vincent van Duysen…white marble…
I’ll Be In the Studio…
…I would be gung ho to work in a space such as this…the rockin’ Concrete Studio by Austin, Texas firm, Mell Lawrence Architects…operable steel windows, large sliding door, skylight, and concrete galore…Concrete Studio was built for a creative couple on their family compound.
…an awesome garden…
…a bit modern…
…a bit traditional…
…the furnishings and accessories depict my style (sorry, owners)…
…harmony…
…and now, drum roll, please…
Mell Lawrence Architects, cabbagerose blog presents you with a ‘concrete thumbs up’…thank you for the inspiration…
Nothing Short…
…of a work of art. SAMI Arquitectos painted the hillside of a Portuguese island with a blackened timber home that provides stunning views which can be seen from the highest point of the land…C/Z House.

NUDE: a photo series by Shinichi Maruyama…
Japanese photographer Shinichi Maruyama has created a stunning series of photos entitled Nude. Each swirling image was created by combining 10,000 distinct photos of a naked model dancing. The resultant swirling compositions at once envelop and obscure the dancers’ forms, while documenting the history of their dance.
